Troy Thomas Obituary

Troy Del Thomas was born in Pineville, Louisiana on August 11, 1968 to the late Gilbert Pillard and Maudry Thomas. He earned his heavenly wings on Friday, March 31, 2023. Troy peacefully departed
this life surrounded by his loving family.
Troy Del, as he was affectionately called, attended Simmesport High School and later completed his studies at Delta Community College, which opened the door for him to begin a career in the health care and mental health field. Troy was employed by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals as a Mental Health Tech for 10+ years until he began working with commercial cleaning companies, which he continued to do until his health began to decline.
Troy Del was vibrant and fun-loving! He never met a stranger and he was guaranteed to be the life of any party. He prided himself on being the best cook around and he would put anyone to shame on the dance floor. Troy loved spending time with family and friends, but his grandbabies were his pride and joy. He particularly loved coming up with befitting names, like Squirmy, Cheeks, Khlo-town, and Savannah Banana. Somehow he created endearing names for all eight of them.
Troy loved all things Old School, from cars and clothes, to boom boxes and cassette tapes. He was a legend in his own way. He stood 6’6” tall, but he was a gentle giant. Troy was a big man, with a big heart. He will definitely be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Troy is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sidyetta F. Brown-Thomas; his children, Bianca Tezeno of Lafayette, LA; Tre’Vonce J. Thomas (Keondra), Karissa Robinson (Frank) all of Baton Rouge, and Kadare F. Brown, Sr. (Kewanna) of Dallas, TX ; his loving mother, Maudry Anderson of Simmesport, LA; brothers, Herman P. Thomas (Lisa) of Moreauville, LA; Mario Webb of Dallas, TX; and Genario Hunter of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Paula Anderson of Mansura, LA; Lashantray Anderson of Innis, LA; Laura Jeannette James (Aubrey) of Houston, TX; Nadine Alexander of Marksville, LA; Cabrini Webb of Dallas, TX; aunts, Stephanie Wright (Clayton) of Houston, TX; Wanda Gilbert (Isiah) and Melanie Moore , both of Simmesport, LA; Paula Rowe (Ronald) and Joyce Marie Anderson, both of Simmesport, LA; uncles, Hilton Pillard (Brenda) and Chester Pillard (Vicenta) , both of Houston, TX; Johnny Augustine (Sandra) of Alexandria, LA; Christopher Adams, of California; Henry Pate, of Baton Rouge, LA and Terry Anderson (Shirley Mae) of Simmsesport, LA; grandchildren, Ahmod, Ka’Lia, Kadare, Jr., Khloe’, Ke’Yoni, Tremaine, Tre’Ci, Kalani and Savannah; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, Gilbert Pillard, stepfather, Robert Anderson; a brother, David M.Duskin; maternal grandparents, Edward and Velma Lewis Thomas, Robert, Jr. and Ivory Mae Joseph Anderson; paternal grandparents, Edward and Geneva Adams Pillard.
