Theresa Yvonne (Prudhomme) Kirklin

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.  Now there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness”   2 Timothy 4:6-7

Theresa Yvonne Prudhomme was born September 6, 1940, to Marcellus August Prudhomme and Joyce Bell Cole Prudhomme in Kinder, Louisiana and was baptized at an early age.

Theresa was a member of Christ Praise & Worship Center, under the leadership of Pastor Rudell Kirklin.  She was a faithful, active member and had a great love for her church.  She remained loyal in her service and ushered for many years and the weekly upkeep of the sanctuary.

She was a Carver High School graduate in the class of 1959.

Before retirement, she was the Activity Director of the Kinder Rehabilitation Center and worked as a Dietician for many years at Allen Parish Hospital.

One of her greatest joys was cooking and feeding her family.  It was tradition for her family to gather at the family home every morning for coffee.  She loved to shop and work in her yard.

She was united in marriage to Wilford James Kirklin on October 22, 1960.  To this union, five (5) children were born.

She leaves to cherish her memories, 2 sons, Rudell (Darla) Kirklin and Brian Kirklin both of Kinder, La.  Three (3) daughters, Dedra R. Guillory and Kimlin L.  Martin both of Kinder, Louisiana and Paula K. Brown of Atlanta, GA, her brother Willis (Patricia) Prudhomme of Kinder, La and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, 4 sisters-in law and 2 brothers-in-law.   

She is preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings and her loving husband of fifty years.
