"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

– Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

On Friday, February 28, 2025, Sherman Anthony Jacobs Jr., affectionately known as “PhatBoosie”, was called home to eternal rest by the Lord. Born on August 2, 1986, Sherman was the cherished son of the late Sherman Jacobs Sr. and Vilitta Batiste. He was baptized at an early age at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Mansura, LA.

Sherman’s vibrant spirit, infectious humor, and unwavering generosity made him a beloved figure to all who knew him. His ability to touch the hearts of those around him, always offering a kind word, a warm smile, or a hearty laugh, was one of his many gifts. Above all, Sherman’s greatest joy was his family, particularly his children, who were the pride and joy of his life.

On May 24th, 2024, Sherman married his long-time sweetheart, Jelissa Griffin, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, joy, and shared dreams.

Sherman was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Jacobs Sr., his sister, Delisha Slaughter, his brother, Kavik Jacobs, his daughter, Jayda Cooper, his God-brother, Robert Brown, and his paternal great-grandparents, James Jacobs Sr. and Rita Mae Murray Jacobs, as well as Clifton and Edna Augustine. He was also preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Pury Blackman and Albirta Augustine-Blackman.
