Mrs. Ollia Ford was born to the late Marshall and Lorena C. Edwards on May 9, 1941. She was baptized at an early age at St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Lemoyen, Louisiana. She attended Lincoln High School, later dropped out of school to care for her younger siblings, and in this care, she found her love for cooking and baking. She had a passion for serving her family and friends. She was always going to welcome you with open arms and a warm meal. She loved her children and family with
everything in her.
Ms. Ollie was married to the late Fredrick Ford; in this union, eleven children were born. She became a member of St. Mark Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess and as mother of the church.
Cherishing her memory are her children, Larry Harrison (Kathy) of Plaquemine, La., James Smith (Martha Ana), of Baton Rouge, La., Sandra Thomas (Jonathan), Felicia Washington (Patrick), and Gerrick Ford, all of Marrow, La., Barbara Edwards of Sunset, La, Carolin Ford, of Opelousas, La., Katherine Boyd(Van) of Georgia, Darlene Ford of Washington, La. and Evonne Joseph(Rufus) of Washington. La.; five brothers, Roosevelt Pointer, Morris Edwards, Calvin Edwards, Carl Edwards, and Joseph Edwards(Edra), two special friends/sisters-in-law, Linda Edwards and Diana McGee, thirty-six grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Marshall and Lorena Edwards, one sister, Sylvia Edwards Tanner, three brothers, Eunice Edwards, Marshall Edwards, and Lester Edwards, her daughter Mary Ann Smith Ford and two grandchildren Kendra Smith and Jarvis Presley.
