Mildred Jackson Obituary

A life character faithfulness, diligence and by her spirit of selfless devotion to her family, church and community are words that describe Mildred Hayes Jackson. She was born on February 23, 1932, in Evergreen Louisiana to the late William Hayes and Ella Young Hayes. She was the fifth child of nine sibling. She was a devoted Christian, faithful wife, nurturing mother, loving grandmother, caring sister, aunt and friend. Mildred affectionately known by her family as Mama, Aunt Mildred and Big Mama.
Mildred was united in Holy matrimony to Willie "Tot" Jackson of Goudeau, Louisiana, on October 12, 1954. They were married for 34 years until Willie's demise on August 3, 1989. They were blessed with two sons; Billy Hayes Jackson and Robby Curtis Jackson.

God in his infinite wisdom called his Angel Mildred to transition from earth to glory to live with him forever. Although her loving spirit, sense of humor, and her very presence will be missed, we accept, with Christian submission of God’s will to call her home. She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons; Billy Hayes Jackson (Kimberly) of Ocean Spring, MS; and
Robby Curtis Jackson of Evergreen, LA; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, they all truly adored and looked up to Big Mama. She also leaves one brother, Rev. Hayes of Houston, TX, Rosemary Hayes of Los Angeles, Doris Hayes of Evergreen, LA, Hilda Jackson of Goudeau, LA and Annie Mae Jackson of Goudeau, LA.
