Michael Wayne Moton

Michael Wayne Moton departed this life on Sunday November 24, 2024 at 6:30PM at home.

Michael was born at Huey P Long Hospital in Pineville, LA on November 15, 1960, to the late George and Louise Moton, Jr. He was Baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Dixon at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. He served as a lifelong member of the Mt Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Michael attended Bayou Chicot High School and graduated in 1980. He worked at Chicot Youth Camp and Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, where he retired after 22 years.

Michael leaves to mourn but cherish his memories:  Goldie Williams and (3) daughters Lanitra Moton, Ariante Moton and Chastity (Otis) Bazile all of Dallas Tx; (3) sisters Patricia (Joseph) Campbell, Houston TX; Frankie Myles and Judy Desselle of St. Landry, LA. One (1) brother Lawrence (MaKeba) Moton of Houston, TX; One (1) brother-in-law Reginald Diamond. Four (4) grandchildren Paxton Bazile, Josiah Castille, Brixton Bazile and Bryson Bazile all of Dallas TX; One (1) godchild Sasha Diamond of Walker, LA. Seven (7) Nieces, Three (3) nephews, Six (6) great nieces Two (2) great-nephewsone (1) great-great niece and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Moton, Sister Jackie Diamond, brother George Moton III, brother-in-Law Rev. Harold Myles. Two (2) grand children Otis Bazile III and Otis Bazile IV. One (1) niece Raven Moton andone (1) nephew Joaquin Reynolds.

Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
