Mary Ann Jones

Mary Ann Jones was born on July 31, 1956 in Cottonport, Louisiana  to the late Maejustia Carter and to the late Earnest Jones Sr.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Beaty Beulah Hurts, and one brother Joshua Hurts.

Mary Ann accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Later in life, she united with Old Zion Baptist Church in Cottonport, Louisiana. As a member of Old Zion Baptist Church, she sung in the choir.  

Mary Ann was educated in Cottonport, Louisiana. She loved gardening, cooking, baking, crocheting, and her family very much.

After arriving to Houston, Texas, she helped take care of her mother during her mother's declining health. Mary Ann was the youngest of ten children. 

Mary Ann leaves a vacant spot in the hearts of her three brothers Rachael Carter of Houston, Texas, Max Jones(Lorra) of Missouri City, Texas, Earnest Jones Jr. of Houston, Texas; her four sisters, Vera Brown of Cottonport, Louisiana, Virginia Wells of Houston, Texas, Sarah Jefferson(Edwin) of Houston, Texas, Carolyn Vance of Houston, Texas and honorary daughter/niece Tanya Wells; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to St. Edwards Funeral  Home of Bunkie Louisiana 318-295-2090.
