Johntae Paul Austin was born on Thursday, July 8, 2004, to Brandon Thomas and Rochelle Austin, both of Marksville La. Johntae was the firstborn of five children. On Tuesday, September 8, 2025, his spirit returned to the master, and he went home to be with his Lord and Savior at Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Johntae attended Marksville High School and graduated in 2022. After high School, he moved to Lake Charles, La., to attend ABC Training Center for welding.
At an early age, Johntae got baptized at St. John Community Baptist Church by Rev. Charles E. Guillory in Marksville, La. At the age of 11, Johntae started doing construction work with his Bonus Papa, Robert Augustine. Johntae enjoyed smiling and laughing. He never met a stranger, and he loved everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed taking on challenges because he felt that nothing was too big or too small to tackle. He enjoyed building horse stalls, riding and training horses, hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, and spending time with family and friends. Johntae had a natural love for people and his family. His smile, kindness, and hearty laugh was pure and left a mark on those who knew him. His graceful spirit could not go unnoticed. He showed every single person love and respect, and to know him was to love him. We were all blessed to have Johntae in our lives, and he will be greatly missed and remembered by us all.
Those left to forever cherish his loving memories are Rochelle Austin (Mother); Brandon Thomas (Father), both of Marksville, La. Demarcus Friels (bonus Father) of Cottonport, La.; Leola Barton(great-grandmother); Vernell Thomas(grandmother); Edward Oliver, Sr. of Marksville, La.; four sisters: Brayla Thomas, Ja'Deria LeBlanc, Laila Austin and Riley Friels all of Marksville, La; three brothers: Daykwon Guillot, Noah Lavalais, and Johnathan Austin all of Marksville, La.; two nephews: Khaleb Augustine, Jr. of Marksville, La., and Denim Perry of Cottonport, La.; three aunts:
