Obituary


James Jenkins was born on October 15, 1949. He and
his parents, Paul and Anne Mae Jenkins resided in Opelousas
LA. James shared his life with his two sister, Marie (Larry) Ned
and Mona (Harlis) Stewart, and one living brother William
(Joyce) Jenkins, Sr.
On January 12, 1970, James Jenkins became one with his
wife, Oradell Amy Thomas. James is survived by 4 children,
Jeffery Jenkins, Vernon "Duck" (Chantell), Tynisa (Earl "Figg")
Hayes, and Derrick. He enjoyed spending time with his 10
grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
James Vernon always enjoyed spending time with his children
and grandchildren.
James Vernon will always be honored and remembered as
an awesome Dad that took care of his children after the
passing of his wife in 1990. One of his proud moments is also
when he became a Deacon at Mount Olive Baptist Church.
James Vernon Jenkins was called home to be with the
Lord on August 8, 2022. He is preceded in death by his wife,
both of his parents, his two brothers, John Wilfred and
Kenneth Paul Jenkins.
