James Edward Ford

James Edward Ford was born on August 8, 1950 to the late Alfred Ford and the late Doris Gray Ford.  He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at St. Mark Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Edges Williams and continued under the present leadership of Pastor Goldman Chapman.  He attended Job Corp in Oklahoma City in 1966.

He loved Christ and was greatly shown by his dedication in helping everyone.  He was dedicated and devoted to what to he did.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  He fought a good fight, a fight filled with courage.  Through all the pain and suffering, his faith never wavered.  Even in pain, he never once complained.  James departed this life on June 27, 2020.  To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthian 5:8

Mr. Ford's services will be held at St. Edwards Funeral Home.  The viewing will begin at 11 a.m. and funeral services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m.  Interment-St. Mark Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Doris Ford; his siblings Barbara, Robert, Roderick, Irene, Frederick, and Stella Ford.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his siblings Abram Ford (Dianna) of Port Arthur, Tx and his four sisters Mable Seals (Roy), Olivia VanWright (Stafford), Dorothy Salsberry of Port Arthur, Tx., and Dianna McGhee (Joseph) of Bunkie, La.  Also sharing the loss of James are a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
