Donald Ray Johnson was born August 1, 1955 in Pineville, LA to the late Alvern and Dorothy O’Quinn. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Simmesport, LA. Later, moving to Marksville, LA, he became a member of St. John Community Church-Baptist under the leadership of Pastor Charles E. Guillory. He was a faithful member of the Voices of Praise Choir, the Men’s Ministry, and the Sunday School Department until his health began to fail. He loved going to church and serving God. He was married to the love of his life, Gloria Johnson for 52 years. Unto this union two children were born, Charlotte and Cedric. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvern O’Quinn and Dorthy O’Quinn Williams and devoted stepmother, Mable O’Quinn; one brother, Ricky Williams; two sisters, Jaqueline Williams and Brenda Griffin and one daughter, Sharonn Lavalais. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Johnson, his son, Cedric Johnson (Melissa), and one daughter, Charlotte Charles. Five sisters- Jessie Marie Simon (Michael), Tina L. Williams, Pamela Stafford (Thomas), Joyce Berzat (Michael), Michelle Vandyke (Bryant). Nine brothers- Ronnie O’Quinn, Michael Williams (Stephanie), John Williams (Tiffany), Lonnie Williams (Diane), Rev. David O’Quinn, Dennis Williams, Danny Williams (Latrice), Tyrone Lincoln (Naomi) and Alvin George (Lorena). Four grandsons- Kameron Charles, Dayton Johnson, Khamryn Hall and Xavier Johnson. Seven granddaughters- Kierra Charles (Jason), Alexis Antoine, Faith Robinson, Kaylee Johnson, Shaniqua Lavalais, Shalana Lavalais, and Correnia Sellers. One great-granddaughter, Jaisley Beverly. Five devoted sisters-in-law, four brothers-inlaw, his Godbrother and childhood friend, Rev. Reese Turner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
