The Amazing Life of Bobby J. Green
Bobby was born in Bunkie, Louisiana on July 9, 1947T o the late Sidney and Cora Johnson Green. He was the ninth of eleven children. He accepted Christ at a young age and attended New Pilgrim Baptist Church in Eola, Louisiana. Bobby attended and graduated from Carver High School in 1966. He joined the Army and became a military policeman from 1968 to 1970. After his discharge, he worked for many years at Allen Canning Company as a Lab Tech and at Lea’s Lunchroom as a cook. Bobby was an avid cook,gardener, woodworker, and maker of ceramics. He absolutely loved to cook and share his creations with his family and friends. He had a passion for watching things grow and thrive, so he maintained a garden with many fresh vegetables with the help of family and friends until his passing. Bobby married the love of his life Josie Harris Green on August 10,1974 and to this union they had two daughters. He and Josie spent 51 years as one. Bobby went to his eternal resting place on November 6, 2025 at Rapides Regional Medical Center ICU Department where he received excellent care until his untimely passing. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Cora Johnson Green; brothers, Sidney Green Jr., Jake Green, Alfred Green, Abraham Green; sisters, Magnolia Ellis, Mary Smith, Thelma Mackenzie, Annie Smith, Carolyn Green, and Doris Green.Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Josie Harris Green; (2) daughters, Shayla Green Williams (Charles) of Bunkie, LA and Kelly Green Barfield (Corey) of Bunkie, LA; (1) sister, Mary Lee Campbell of Whiteville, LA; (2) grandsons, Cameron and Cayvon Barfield, (1) granddaughter, Savannah Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.
