Anastasia McKinley was born on August 17, 1970 in Fort Polk, La to the late Garrett Patrick McKinley Sr and Precilla McKinley. She came from a military family due to her father’s service for the United States Army. She lived in the US and overseas for most of her childhood. She was a resident of Tacoma, Washington for over 20 years until she moved back to Louisiana in 2019 due to her health along with her mother’s health. She transitioned to her heavenly home on October 18, 2024 at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by her daughter and grandchildren. Anastasia was the life of the party. She lived life the way she wanted to, on her own terms. She always had something humorous to say that could change your day or even your outlook on life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Garrett Patrick McKinley Sr. and Precilla McKinley (St. Romain), maternal grandparents Clarence and Leonie St. Romain (Francisco); paternal grandparents Willard McKinley Sr and Anita McKinley (Johnson); maternal uncles Leroy, George, Clarence, Aaron, Jerry, Edward Charles and Robert St. Romain and Alvin Watson; maternal aunts Dorina St. Romain and Nellie Rose Spikes; paternal uncles Willard McKinley Jr and Arnold McKinley.
She is survived by her daughter Taylor Marie Mckinley; grandchildren Kendall Amere and Kimora Ann McKinley, all of Hessmer, LA; 2 sisters Nanette (John) Clarkson of Huntsville, AL and Syreeta McKinley of Tulsa, OK and 1 brother, Garrett Patrick McKinley Jr. of Nashville, TN; 2 nephews, Garrett Patrick McKinley III of Baton Rouge, LA and Samarie Clarkson of Huntsville, AL; 2 nieces Alyssa McKinley and Alexus Abraham; 4 great nephews Parker, Jaxon and Tucker McKinley of Baton Rouge, LA and Robert Ferguson of Huntsville, AL and 1 great niece Elara Arriaga of Huntsville, AL; maternal uncle Jerome (Waverly) St. Romain of New Orleans, LA; paternal uncles Keith(Pamela) McKinley of Missouri, TX, Mike McKinley of Saginaw, Michigan, and Glenn McKinley of Mansura, LA; paternal aunts Abrigale (Roland) Patterson of Marksville, LA, Deberia McKinley of Mansura, LA and Christina (Robert) Robinson of Mansura, LA.
